Due to lack of money, Hung sent Ms. S. "hot" pictures of her that Hung secretly recorded during their video chats to ask Ms. S. to transfer money to Hung.

On the evening of February 2, Go Vap District Police, Ho Chi Minh City, announced that they were detaining Vo Van Hung (born in 1989, permanent residence in Tay Chin Hamlet, Lao Bao Town, Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province) to investigate the act of "Extortion of property".
Hung was caught red-handed threatening and extorting a large sum of money from Ms. NTS (born in 1978, Vietnamese American).
According to initial investigation, around October 2020, through social networks, Hung got to know Ms. S. and used Zalo and Facebook to chat with Ms. S.
During this time, Hung and Ms. S. had sensitive video chats with each other. During these times, Hung secretly filmed all of Ms. S's clips.
Around December 2021, due to lack of money, Hung sent Ms. S. "hot" pictures of her to ask Ms. S. to transfer money to Hung.
When Ms. S. did not agree, Hung threatened to send the pictures to Ms. S.'s friends and post them on social media to mentally intimidate her.
Because she was afraid of having her "hot" photos and clips posted on social media and sent to friends, Ms. S. agreed to transfer money to Hung many times.
Using this trick, Hung asked Ms. S. to transfer more than 100 times and appropriated more than 1.4 billion VND and 16,000 USD from Ms. S.
On February 1, Hung asked Ms. S. to return to Vietnam and bring Hung 30 million VND.
At around 6:00 p.m. the same day, Hung flew from Quang Tri to Ho Chi Minh City and made an appointment to meet Ms. S. at a coffee shop on Phan Van Tri Street, Ward 10, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Using professional measures and information provided by the people, the Criminal Police Team of Go Vap District Police discovered the above incident, deployed forces and caught Hung red-handed while receiving money.
The police confiscated from Hung a cell phone containing many clips and images that Hung had recorded of Ms. S. to threaten her.
Initially, Hung admitted all his acts of extortion.
Currently, the police are consolidating the case file to handle the subject according to the provisions of law.
