The Japanese yen has continuously depreciated, causing a sharp decrease in the number of Hai Duong people choosing to go to Japan to work. According to a survey by reporters, at some enterprises in the province that send interns or workers to work in this country, from the beginning of the year to mid-April, the number of workers applying to work in Japan decreased by about 30% compared to the same period last year. The main reason is the continuous depreciation of the yen. The amount of money converted for workers working in Japan to send back to Vietnam is small.

Many workers, instead of choosing to work in Japan, have moved to other markets such as Korea, Taiwan or as trainees to countries such as Germany, Singapore, etc.

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, due to the impact of the yen devaluation, in the past 3 months, Hai Duong only had 986 workers going to work in Japan under contracts, a decrease of about 30% compared to the same period last year.
