Foreign couple dies unexpectedly in villa in Hoi An

On December 30, the leader of Quang Nam Provincial Police said that the unit is coordinating with the Institute of Criminal Science, Ministry of Public Security to conduct an examination to determine the cause of death of two foreigners at a tourist villa in Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An city.

Initial examination determined that there was no external impact on the body, no signs of ransacking at the scene, and property and phone were still present.

Previously, at noon on December 26, Hoi An City Police received a report that at Hoa Chuong tourist villa (in Van Lang village, Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An city), Ms. Otteson Greta Marie (34 years old, British nationality, in room 101, 1st floor) was found dead on the bed.

Upon arrival, Hoi An City Police inspected and continued to discover that room 201 was locked from the inside, inside the room was Els Arno Quinton (36 years old, South African nationality) dead lying on his back on the bed.

The incident was reported to the Quang Nam Provincial Police. Upon receiving the report, the provincial police leaders assigned the Criminal Police, Forensic Science and other professional units to urgently go to the scene to conduct an examination and investigation.

The case is being investigated and handled by the authorities in accordance with the law.
