The minimum score for university admission to 17 military schools is from 15 to 24, while the minimum score for college admission is from 14 to 16 points.
The Military Science Academy has the highest minimum score, according to the announcement of the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense, on July 25. Female candidates applying for admission with the combination of D01 (math, literature, English), D02 (math, literature, Russian), D04 (math, literature, Chinese) need to achieve 24 points or more. For male candidates, this level is 20 points.
The Military Medical Academy is determined by the Ministry of Education and Training for the health sector. The admission score for this school is 19-22.5, the highest in the medical sector.
For the Military Technical Academy, the threshold is 19-22. The remaining schools take from 15 to 19. The above scores are calculated on a scale of 30, no subject is multiplied by a coefficient and includes priority points.
The Military Admissions Board also announced the quality assurance threshold for college admission is 14-16.
The floor scores of military schools in 2024 are as follows:
Candidates should note that military schools only consider candidates who have passed the preliminary round (including criteria on health, politics, ethics...), and at the same time put their desire to enter the school in the number 1 position.
The 17 military schools are divided into two groups. The group that trains technical officers includes the Military Medical Academy, the Military Science Academy, and the Military Technical Academy. The group that trains command, political, and logistics officers includes the remaining schools. Some conditions will differ between the two groups of schools.
Therefore, if candidates want to change their preferences, they can only change to schools within the same group. If they change their preferences to schools in a different group than the school they registered for during the preliminary selection because of their high scores, they will be rejected even if they meet the standard score. This case has appeared in previous years.
This year, military schools recruited more than 5,300 students, an increase of nearly 1,000 compared to last year. In addition to direct admission and considering high school graduation exam scores, for the first time, these schools considered test scores to assess capacity and academic records (early admission). The total early admission target was nearly 2,200, but only about 950 candidates met the admission requirements.
Last year, the benchmark scores based on graduation exam results for military schools ranged from 16.25 to 27.97. The Military Science Academy had the highest score, while the Engineering Officer School had the lowest.
