5 military schools announce academic standards and capacity assessments

On the evening of July 10, 5 military schools announced admission scores based on early admission methods, including considering high school transcripts and based on the results of the competency assessment exam of two national universities.

In terms of academic records, the Military Science Academy has the highest admission requirements. Male candidates in the South applying for Technical Reconnaissance need to achieve 28,651 points. The lowest requirement is International Relations, which requires 27,223 points for male candidates.

This is the average score in 3 years of high school according to the admission combination, plus priority points (if any). For combinations with Foreign Language, this subject score is multiplied by a factor of 2 and then converted to a scale of 30 according to the formula:

Admission score = (Subject 1 score + Subject 2 score + Foreign language score x 2) * 3/4 ​​+ Priority score.

The other three schools are Army Officer School 2, Information Officer School and Engineering Officer School with benchmark scores ranging from 24.463 to 28.2.

With the method of considering the test scores to assess the capacity of two national universities, the Military Technical Academy leads in terms of standard scores. Female candidates in the South need to achieve 24.466 points. The lowest is the Engineering Officer School, with 15.6 points, applied to female candidates.

This level has been converted to a 30 scale.

With exam scores of Hanoi National University:Admission score = Aptitude test score * 30/150 + Priority points.

With the exam results of Ho Chi Minh City National University:Admission score = Aptitude test score * 30/1200 + Priority points.

This year, 17 military schools recruited more than 5,300 students, an increase of nearly 1,000 compared to last year. In addition to the traditional method of relying on high school graduation exam results and direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of National Defense, for the first time, this group of schools considered test scores to assess capacity and academic records.

In particular, for the review of academic records, candidates need to have a total score of 7 or higher in each year of high school, and the minimum score for the subjects in the admission combination is 7.5. In addition, candidates need to pass the preliminary round in the localities.

The total early admission quota is nearly 2,200. On the afternoon of July 9, the Military Admissions Board said that although more than 2,500 candidates registered, the number of people eligible for early admission was only about 950.

Last year, the admission score based on the graduation exam results for military schools ranged from 16.25 to 27.97. The Military Science Academy had the highest admission score, the lowest was the Engineering Officer School.
