On March 22, at the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department, Lang Son General Hospital, doctors held a small wedding for groom TH and bride NA. The special wedding took place with the blessings of doctors and family.

Speaking to reporters, specialist doctor Nguyen Thanh Do - the main person treating Mr. TH, said that on March 15, the department received patient TH (32 years old) in a state of septic shock - pneumonia, progressive acute respiratory failure, multiple organ failure, with a high prognosis of death.

Doctors quickly performed intensive resuscitation for Mr. TH. The patient was given high doses of vasopressors and mechanical ventilation to protect his lungs. His liver and kidney failure progressed rapidly. According to his family, Mr. TH was preparing for his wedding on March 22.

Doctor Do shared that the patient's parents stayed up all night quietly taking care of their child, while Ms. NA just sat crying by her fiancé's hospital bed. In a life-or-death situation, the doctors and nurses tried their best with the hope that "where there is life, there is hope".

During the emergency, there was a time when Mr. TH had a seizure, was agitated, had unmeasurable blood pressure, and had prolonged anuria, and it seemed that he would not survive. With the patient's efforts and the determination of the doctors, the patient was removed from the breathing tube, his failing organs recovered, and he gradually regained consciousness.

When they learned that Mr. TH's wedding was scheduled for March 22, the doctors and nurses decided to hold a small wedding right at the hospital to help the patient and his family be happy and not feel deprived.

To ensure infection control, the nurses cleaned the patient area, decorated it with balloons, and moved Mr. TH’s hospital bed. There, Mr. TH exchanged wedding rings with his bride in the presence of doctors, nurses, and relatives.

The wedding did not have a celebration party, but the young couple received congratulations from the hospital and the department. After that, Mr. TH was also happy and recovered faster. Doctor Do added that the patient is now alert, can talk, eat liquid food, and can be discharged from the hospital in the next few days.
