Leaving the city to return to the countryside not only changes the living environment but also helps many people gain more experience and career development opportunities.
Upstream
Behind the rolling hills is the vast custard apple growing area of Tan Tien residential area, Hoang Tien ward (Chi Linh). Favored by nature, this place has a fresh climate and poetic scenery. This is also an ideal place for many people to choose to leave the city and return to the countryside.
The spacious 2-storey house located in the middle of a large custard apple garden is the home of Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh and his wife after many years of hard work. For Mr. Tuan Anh, leaving the city to return to the countryside was one of the right choices. Previously, he and his wife were workers in Hanoi. Life was already difficult, but it became even more difficult when they had a small child. Unable to bear the pressure in the city, Mr. Tuan Anh spent all his savings and borrowed more to buy 1.7 hectares of land in Suoi Gang area, Hoang Tien ward to do business.
With tireless labor, Mr. Tuan Anh and his wife have turned the barren land into an orchard with high economic value. Not only that, he also expanded the custard apple growing area from 1.7 hectares to 4 hectares. "From scratch, we gradually accumulated assets, built a house, and bought 2 cars. Life in the countryside is hard but free and comfortable. We spend all our time taking care of our children," said Mr. Tuan Anh.
Owning the ASEAN Study Abroad Center, one of the famous labor export training facilities in Hai Duong City, Mr. Vu Quang Tuan and his wife Nguyen Thi Minh still left the city to return to their hometown. Initially, they only bought land for investment and savings, but with the desire to find moments of peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in 2019, Mr. Tuan and his wife moved to Hong Phong Commune (Nam Sach) to live permanently. The 200 m2 villa2with a green campus standing out in the middle of the countryside. For them, life in the countryside helps them have more relaxing moments after stressful working hours.
Mr. Tuan shared: "My hometown is Bac Ninh, I started my career in Hai Duong city, but I like living in the countryside. This gives my family interesting experiences. Instead of living in the noisy city, living in the countryside is peaceful and gives me the opportunity to be close to the village, to take care of the fruit garden around the house... Those little things help me have more joy and reduce pressure at work."
The story of leaving the city and going against the flow to return to the countryside to live is no longer rare. If in the past, leaving the city to return to the countryside was often for retirees who wanted to return to enjoy a leisurely, peaceful life in their hometown, in the past few years it has become a trend for many people, including many young people.
More experiences
Leaving the bustling city to return to the countryside is not to escape pressure but to change lifestyle and create new opportunities. This means that besides the benefits, they also have to face many difficulties.
Despite their success in the field of training and exporting labor, Mr. Tuan and his wife, Ms. Minh, continued to try their hand in a completely new field. Overcoming difficulties and challenges, the couple built the brand "Bun dau met 1950" with over 20 franchise locations in many provinces and cities across the country.
Sharing about the first days of her new career, Ms. Minh shared: "Initially, we had to research and experiment to create a vermicelli dish with attractive flavors and suitable for the taste of Hai Duong people. There were times when my husband and I stayed up until dawn to experiment with each dish. After a few months, the vermicelli dish on Hop Street (Nam Sach Town) attracted a large number of customers and became a separate brand for both husband and wife. This success was beyond our expectations."
In 2019, after retiring, Mr. Tran Tuan Kiet and his wife in Phuc Tan Ward (Hanoi City) also returned to their hometown. The mountainous space in Chi Linh village is a good choice for them to relax in their old age and gather with their children and grandchildren during the holidays. With 3 hectares of peach and fruit trees, he hired someone to take care of them. In the remaining time, he focuses on taking care of his small garden and composing poetry and literature.
"What I like most about returning to my hometown is the fresh and quiet air. My wife and I grow a few rows of vegetables to provide for our own meals. The rest of the time, I spend reading books and writing poems and prose. Perhaps if I didn't return to my hometown, a construction engineer like me would have difficulty writing poems and prose," said Mr. Kiet.
One thing is for sure, leaving the city to return to the countryside is not to escape work or pressure, but to return to the countryside to work in a different way. Giving up the suffocating life to find a peaceful life, having time to take care of yourself, your family… These are health and mental benefits for those who leave the city to return to the countryside.
