On October 9, the People's Committee of Co To district, Quang Ninh province, announced that authorities had just successfully rescued four fishermen who were in distress while catching floating fish in the Co To island area.
Accordingly, at around 9:30 p.m. on October 8, a 21-meter-long, 4.2-meter-wide iron boat (not yet inspected) driven by Mr. Vu Quang Trieu (born in 1975, residing in Group 8, Tan Lap 1 Area, Cam Thuy Ward, Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province) was fishing for floating fish when it sank in the southern area of Co To Small Island. At that time, there were 4 people on board.
Upon receiving the news, the Co To District Military Command coordinated with the functional forces of Thanh Lan commune to rescue and bring 4 fishermen safely ashore.
After being brought safely to shore, the four fishermen were medically examined and cared for, and are now in stable health.
