On the afternoon of March 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Official Dispatch No. 21/CD-TTg on strengthening fire prevention and fighting work.
Previously, at 9:43 a.m. on March 12, a fire broke out in a high-rise building at the O Cho Dua intersection in Dong Da District, Hanoi. This is a crowded business location with a large population, a place with a large number of people and vehicles passing by, causing panic and anxiety among the people. Regarding this, the Prime Minister gave the following instructions:
We welcome the functional forces and the masses, in which the core is the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police force, who promptly deployed professional measures to quickly extinguish the fire completely, preventing it from spreading, ensuring the safety of people's lives and health, and minimizing property damage.
The Minister of Public Security, Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities, especially large cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, continue to direct the serious, drastic, effective and substantive implementation of the directions of the Government and the Prime Minister, especially Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2023 on strengthening fire prevention and fighting in the new situation; improve the effectiveness of propaganda work, guidance on knowledge and skills of fire prevention, fighting, rescue, and fire and explosion safety conditions for people and establishments at high risk of fire and explosion in the area; focus on implementing plans to ensure fire and explosion safety at crowded places and festival areas.
