Ninh Giang police arrest inter-district motorbike theft gang

The thieves chose to strike in the evening and went in two groups. The group usually wore black jackets, half-head helmets, masks, and rode Exciter-style motorbikes. The two took advantage of people parking their motorbikes in front of their houses, without anyone watching or protecting them, then approached the motorbikes to break the locks, then quickly escaped.

Based on the information provided by the people, Ninh Giang District Police identified this as a group of professional and sophisticated criminals that needed to be quickly eradicated to stabilize the social situation. From the information received about the methods and tricks of the thefts that occurred in the areas, Ninh Giang District Police determined that they were all carried out by a group of criminals. They informed and exchanged professional information with the Criminal Police Department (Provincial Police) and the police of Tu Ky, Gia Loc, and Thanh Mien districts to focus on prevention, fighting and clarifying.

Through the work of grasping the situation, investigating and verifying, on November 7, on the North-South axis, through Hung Long commune (Ninh Giang), police forces at all levels patrolled and controlled and discovered 2 subjects riding an Exciter motorbike with similar clothing characteristics to the two subjects who committed the above thefts and immediately conducted an inspection. Being suddenly inspected, 1 subject quickly got off the motorbike and ran away, the police force detained 1 subject.

Conducting verification, Ninh Giang District Police identified the detained subject as Pham Ngoc Duy (born in 1993, residing in Le Than village, Hoa An commune) with 2 previous convictions for theft of property and receiving property obtained by others through crime. The fleeing subject was Truong Duc Hau (born in 1995, residing in Van Han Trung village, Thai Hung commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh) with 3 previous convictions, all for theft of property.

Duy confessed that from mid-September to early November 2023, he and Hau committed 4 SH motorbike thefts in the districts of Gia Loc, Tu Ky, Thanh Mien, and Ninh Giang. In addition, Duy and Tran Van Nhat (born in 1994), a resident of the same commune, stole 2 SH motorbikes in Ninh Giang district. Nhat has 2 previous convictions for theft of property and illegal drug trafficking.

After learning that Duy was arrested by the police, Hau and Nhat fled the area. Determined to bring the suspects to justice, Ninh Giang District Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department to use synchronous professional measures to verify where Hau and Nhat had fled. On November 14, the police arrested Hau while hiding in Hanoi. 16 days later, Nhat was also captured while hiding at a close friend's house in Binh Duong Province.

With many criminal records and experience in dealing with the police, at the beginning of working with the investigation agency, Hau and Nhat were stubborn, evasive, and did not admit to their crimes. Using a combination of professional measures, especially with the courage, experience, and intelligence of the investigators, the Ninh Giang District Police investigation officers, and the documents and evidence collected, Hau and Nhat gradually bowed their heads and admitted their guilt.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ninh Giang District Police has investigated and clarified that Duy, Hau, and Nhat committed 6 cases of stealing 6 SH motorbikes in Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien, Tu Ky, and Gia Loc districts. Along with that, the decision was made to prosecute the above defendants for property theft.

The Investigation Police Agency of Ninh Giang District Police has tracked down and recovered 4 SH motorbikes stolen by the subjects and returned them to the people.
