"Eyes and ears" of the police force

Officers and soldiers of the Chi Minh Commune Police (Tu Ky) always acknowledge the vigilance and awareness of the people in fighting against crime, which has helped the police force quickly identify the property thief.

On July 31, Chi Minh Commune Police received a report from Mr. Pham Van P. in Tay An village about a thief stealing 6 million VND on the evening of July 28. On the same day, people reported that they had spotted a suspicious young man riding a bicycle around Mr. P's house. Based on this information, along with professional measures, the police invited the young man to come in for questioning.

This young man, Nguyen Van Nhanh (born in 2004, residing in An Nhan Tay residential area, Tu Ky town), admitted to committing the theft at Mr. P's house. Nhanh said he returned to Mr. P's house to investigate whether his family had discovered any missing property or suspected anyone of stealing property.

In recent times, the masses have become the "eyes and ears" of the police force, providing valuable information to help the police force do a good job of ensuring security, order, preventing and fighting crime.

According to Major Nguyen Van Kieu, Head of Nam Hong Commune Police (Nam Sach), people's reports that some drug-related subjects from other areas came to the locality to operate helped the police promptly fight. Typically, on the evening of June 3, 2024, based on information provided by people, Nam Hong Commune Police caught Nguyen Van Mao (born in 1987, residing in Chu Dau village, Thai Tan commune, Nam Sach) illegally hiding drugs. Mao has been addicted to drugs since 2022 and has many criminal records.

Practical activities

Implementing the motto "Do a good deed every day for the people", "Listen to what the people say, say what the people understand, do what the people believe", the police agencies at all levels of Hai Duong province have really stayed close to the people, grasped the area, and promptly listened to the people's thoughts and aspirations. From there, effective solutions have been found to ensure social security, helping people feel secure in doing business and living.

Currently, Le Xa village, Cam Phuc commune (Cam Giang) has 235 boarding houses with over 4,000 people from other places temporarily residing, with a high risk of losing security and order, affecting people's lives. The commune police have advised and coordinated to establish a linkage model of "Self-management group for enterprises and boarding houses to ensure security and order" in Le Xa village. The boarding houses have basically installed security camera systems and established a Zalo group to promptly report security and order situations to the authorities. The commune police have also advised to establish a Mobile Team with 10 members. The team has installed 3 barriers at 3 gateways to Le Xa village with the purpose of coordinating to prevent and arrest criminals when they detect them with the motto "thieves entering the village, closing the village gate to catch thieves".

Currently, the whole province maintains 1,869 models of “Self-management, self-prevention, self-protection of security and order”. Each agency, unit, association, union, village, residential area, inter-family group, clan, etc. has established its own suitable and effective models.

With the spirit of being close to the people, becoming a reliable force of the masses, the Provincial Police launched many emulation movements to build a beautiful image of the People's Police, especially for the regular police force in communes, wards and towns. Police officers and soldiers always uphold the spirit of responsibility, wholeheartedly helping people whenever they need it. The beautiful image of the People's Police is most clearly demonstrated in the work of preventing the Covid-19 epidemic; supporting the elderly and sick in the campaign to collect applications for chip-embedded citizen identification cards; collecting and activating electronic identification accounts, handling online public administrative procedures; "going to every alley, knocking on every door" to propagate crime prevention...

The Provincial Police force also actively participates in charity and humanitarian activities. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Provincial Police agencies and units presided over and coordinated charity and humanitarian work for the poor with a total amount of more than 500 million VND.
