The incident happened nearly a month ago, but every time it is mentioned, people in Bang Nghia village, Ngoc Lien commune (Cam Giang) are very impressed with the vigilance and determination to fight crime of the village's Security and Order Protection Team.

On the night of July 9, while patrolling and controlling, the Security and Order Protection Team of Bang Nghia village discovered a thief breaking the lock of a warehouse in the village communal house to steal construction machinery and equipment belonging to Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong in Lien Hong commune (Hai Duong city) that was left there. The members of the team immediately discussed measures to capture the thief. Seeing the commotion, the thief panicked and ran away and was chased by the Security and Order Protection Team. To escape, the two thieves left behind a welding machine and a roll of stolen electric wire. The Security and Order Protection Team reported to the Ngoc Lien commune police and coordinated to verify and return the property to Mr. Thuong.

On the night of July 29, while coordinating patrols and controls, the Security and Order Protection Team of Quyet Thang Village, Kim Anh Commune (Kim Thanh) discovered a young man with characteristics similar to a local subject being sought by the Investigation Police Agency of District 3 (Ho Chi Minh City) for committing fraud and appropriation of property. Members of the team invited the subject to the Kim Anh Commune Police headquarters for questioning. Through verification, the police agency determined that the young man was Le Nam Tien Thanh (born in 1998, permanent residence in Quyet Thang Village), the person the Ho Chi Minh City Police were looking for. On July 30, the Kim Anh Commune Police handed over the subject to the Investigation Police Agency of District 3 Police for further handling.

Mr. Phan Thanh Khoa, Deputy Head of the Security and Order Protection Team of Quyet Thang village, shared: “Our team has 3 members. Since starting operations, we have proactively coordinated and organized patrols and controls from 7-11pm every day, especially focusing on public activity spots and main roads of the village to promptly grasp the situation and handle arising situations.”

According to the preliminary summary of the authorities, after 1 month of operation, the Security and Order Protection Team at the grassroots level in the districts of Tu Ky, Cam Giang, Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha has proactively coordinated and supported the police force to detect, arrest and handle 9 cases of violations and crimes.

The teams participated in 309 sessions of propaganda on preventing fraud in cyberspace for 17,737 people; participated in 725 sessions of propaganda for 679 households, 1,828 people on ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety; supported fire prevention and fighting safety inspections at 412 establishments; participated in practicing fire fighting plans at 29 units and residential areas.
