Art program "Independence Star" - Honoring the indomitable will of the nation

The August Revolution of 1945 brought the Vietnamese people into a new era - the era of independence, freedom and happiness. That revolution left behind many values ​​and extremely valuable lessons for the cause of building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam today and in the future. During those revolutionary days, at Ba Dinh Square, on September 2, 1945, in front of the people, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. That moment became a brilliant milestone in the thousand-year journey of building and defending the country of our people, affirming to the whole world about a free and independent Vietnam and the entire Vietnamese people determined to protect that independence and freedom.

With that special meaning, over the years, the political art program "Independence Star" has been solemnly organized, rich in political meaning and artistic value to celebrate the anniversary of a great event of the nation, contributing to reminding all Vietnamese people to always be grateful, deeply remember the great sacrifices of the previous generations, recall the arduous and heroic historical journey, further understand and cherish the value of peace, independence and freedom today, becoming a great spiritual resource for the cause of firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam and realizing the aspiration to develop the country to be more and more prosperous and happy.

“Independence Star” has become an annual program, eagerly awaited by many veteran revolutionaries, intellectuals, party members and the masses on the autumn days of August. With its unique artistic content, the program depicts the noble cultural and historical values ​​of patriotism and the indomitable will of many generations of heroic Vietnamese people in the struggle, construction and protection of the independence of the Fatherland. These values ​​have been fueling the traditional flame for today’s generations to continue to overcome difficulties and challenges, unite, build and protect our country sustainably, powerfully and eternally.

"Independence Star" in 2023 has many creative innovations in program organization, the script smoothly and harmoniously combines artistic quality and political significance, reflecting in general and focusing on the 78-year process of independence, autonomy, and steadfastness on the path of socialism of our country since the August Revolution and National Day September 2, 1945. The program demonstrates the determination of the entire Party, people, and army in the spirit of "Proactively supporting, then supporting", "One call, all respond", "Unanimously united", "Unanimously completing", step by step overcoming difficulties and challenges, successfully implementing the set goals and tasks, creating great momentum to bring the country into 2023 and 2024 with new confidence, new spirit, new determination, continuing to develop rapidly and sustainably.

The program is structured into two parts, representing two stages: "Revolutionary Autumn - the whole nation unites, builds independence" and "Autumn of Aspiration - the whole country firmly believes, perseveres towards success". The interweaving of two central reports and 15 art performances with heroic revolutionary songs, youth songs, lyrical music, elaborately staged, impressively arranged, highly interactive images... creates a whole containing messages and connotations about national strength, indomitable will in each revolutionary stage of our people.

The art program brought to the audience at the Hanoi Opera House and television audiences nationwide heroic and touching moments, with pride, gratitude, faith and aspiration to join hands to build a strong and prosperous country. The program as a whole clearly depicts the goals, orientations and wishes of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Party Central Committee in the coming years and many years to come, aiming to bring the country to new achievements in the process of integration and development.

Within the framework of the program, the Party and State leaders presented gifts to revolutionary veterans and people with revolutionary contributions during the resistance wars from Tuyen Quang province and Hanoi city. Ten outstanding soldiers with many contributions to the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland belonging to the Navy received gifts and flowers from the Organizing Committee.
