A three-story cake shop in the center of Ho Chi Minh City caught fire, with eight people trapped inside. Police rescued them and took them to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The fire broke out at 4:30 a.m. this morning, February 24, at Tan Phat bakery located at 236 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Cau Ong Lanh ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
At that time, people discovered a fire in a 3-story house that used to be a bakery. The fire was red and there was thick smoke.
At this time, there were many people trapped inside, calling for help.
Although people shouted and brought mini fire extinguishers to approach and put out the fire, they were unsuccessful.
Upon receiving the news, the District 1 Fire Prevention and Fighting Team and Area 1 Team of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PC07) of Ho Chi Minh City Police quickly mobilized many vehicles to the scene.
10 minutes later, the police arrived and controlled the fire, preventing it from spreading.
According to PC07, 8 people were trapped in the fire and were rescued by police and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
So far, four people have stabilized and four others are still being treated.
Regarding damage, the fire area is about 23 m2/118 m2in the baking area and family bedroom; part of the front of the second floor of the house was scorched.
The fire damaged many baking materials, interior decorations, tables and chairs, household appliances and electrical equipment.
Police have secured 95 m.2/118 m2, not letting the fire spread to the bakery's business areas and adjacent houses.
