On the evening of July 2, a large fire broke out on the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway, near Thong Nhat overpass, Gia Loc town (Hai Duong).
According to initial information, the fire broke out at around 9:20 p.m. on July 2. The fire broke out after tanker 24H 00262, suspected of carrying gasoline, collided with truck 14C 20085.
The fire flared up fiercely, accompanied by billowing black smoke. The fire spread to the green corridor on the highway, causing a one-way traffic jam on the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway.
A source said the tanker driver was Dao Phu Thang, born in 1983, residing in Tang Loong town, Bao Thang district, Lao Cai. Thang was taken to the hospital by local people and authorities for emergency treatment.
The working group of Traffic Police Team No. 2, Traffic Police Department was present at the scene to coordinate with relevant agencies to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the traffic accident that led to the car fire is under investigation.
