After a period of experimental planting, the moneywort plant was evaluated by Hai Duong Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies Joint Stock Company as easy to grow, bringing high economic efficiency to farmers in Tan Quang commune (Ninh Giang).
After visiting the model in the field, delegates attending the workshop "Building a model for growing some medicinal plants according to GACP-WHO standards to serve the production of medicines on an industrial scale in the province" organized by Hai Duong Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies Joint Stock Company on the morning of May 29 in Tan Quang commune (Ninh Giang) assessed that the moneywort plant is easy to grow, easy to care for, has few pests and diseases and brings economic efficiency 2-3 times higher than rice cultivation.
The moneywort plant was planted by Hai Duong Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies Joint Stock Company in collaboration with farmers in Tan Quang commune from 2023 on an area of 10,800 m2. Planting time is from late January to early February; can be harvested in 3 batches, in June, August and October. After drying, reaching about 8.9 tons of medicinal herbs/ha, people can earn 162 million VND/ha. All medicinal herbs are purchased by the company.
This year, the area of moneywort in Tan Quang commune has been expanded to more than 18,000 m2 and will be harvested next June.
