According to the assessment of the Center for Science and Technology Application and Variety Testing of Hai Duong province, Dai Thom 8 rice has a higher economic value of 8-9 million VND/ha compared to Bac Thom 7 rice.
Dai Thom 8 rice variety grows and develops well, has few diseases, is easy to care for, has good lodging resistance; has high yield and quality. These are the assessments given by the Provincial Center for Science and Technology Application and Variety Testing at a workshop on the morning of October 5 in Tan Dan Ward (Chi Linh, Hai Duong).
The center implemented the model in Cam Hoang commune (Cam Giang), Le Loi commune (Gia Loc) and Tan Dan ward (Chi Linh) on an area of 60 hectares with the participation of more than 400 households. Dai Thom 8 rice variety was planted in both the winter-spring crop and the summer-autumn crop in 2023. In the winter-spring crop, the rice yield reached 62.2 quintals/ha (12.21 quintals/ha higher than the control variety Bac Thom 7), and the summer-autumn crop is expected to reach 62.9 quintals/ha (about 11.4 quintals/ha higher). Dai Thom 8 rice has an economic value 8-9 million VND/ha higher than Bac Thom 7 rice.
The Center for Science and Technology Application and Variety Testing of Hai Duong province evaluated the Dai Thom 8 rice variety as suitable for Hai Duong's production conditions.
