Rice is used as raw material for processing vermicelli and rice paper in the province's traditional craft villages. This rice variety can meet the requirements for creating carbon credits.
SHPT3 is an exclusive product of Hai Duong Seed Joint Stock Company, produced at Tu Ky, Quy Duong, Chi Linh and Nam Sach seed factories. This is a purebred rice variety, created by the Genetics Institute from a cross between Khang Dan 18 and PSB-Rc68 carrying the Sub1 submergence tolerance gene.
SHPT3 rice variety has a height of 110-115 cm, grows well, is cold-resistant, is less susceptible to pests and diseases, and can be planted in both spring and summer crops, on fertile land, high land, even in acidic, low-lying or flooded fields. It has high yield potential, reaching 70-75 quintals/ha in the spring crop and 65-70 quintals/ha in the summer crop.
