Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police) has arranged officers and soldiers to use flycams to record vehicles violating traffic laws on the elevated Ring Road 3.
On the morning of August 26, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) deployed forces to handle motorbike drivers who deliberately drove onto the highway and cars that entered the emergency lane of the elevated Ring Road 3.
To ensure safety and thoroughly handle violations, a traffic police officer controls a flycam (an unmanned device used to film and take photos) flying along the route to record and detect violations and then report via walkie-talkie to the public handling post at the highway exit.
After a few minutes, the traffic police team discovered 5 cases of motorcyclists entering the highway.
Reporting to the traffic police, Mr. BQT (30 years old, residing in Me Linh, Hanoi) said that he was driving onto the elevated Ring Road 3 from Pham Van Dong Street. "I was afraid of traffic jams on the lower road so I went onto the expressway to be on time for work. I knew it was dangerous but if I was late I would be fined," said Mr. T.
The Traffic Police Department has issued a fine for motorcyclists who violated the law "Driving a motorbike or moped (including electric motorbikes) on the highway". For this violation, the driver will be fined 2-3 million VND, have their driving license revoked for 3-5 months, and have their vehicle impounded for 7 days.
During their shift, the traffic police team also discovered a passenger car driving into the emergency lane of the elevated Ring Road 3. When the traffic police informed them of the violation, the driver was surprised because the violation was far from where the police team had set up a checkpoint but was still discovered.
After reviewing the violation image, the driver was "convinced" and admitted his mistake. NCT driver (45 years old, residing in Bac Giang) said that if traffic police use high-tech equipment to detect violations, drivers' awareness of obeying traffic laws will be improved. "I did not expect my violation to be clearly recorded by the traffic police. After being fined this time, I will learn from my experience," driver T. shared.
The Traffic Police Department has issued an administrative fine to driver T. for the violation of "Driving into the emergency lane on the highway". For this violation, driver T. will be fined 5 million VND and have his driver's license revoked for 3 months.
Major Le Van Dong, Traffic Police Team No. 6, said that using high-tech equipment to detect violations will help drivers raise their awareness of obeying traffic laws.
"Drivers will get rid of the mentality of only complying when there are authorities. In addition to handling on-site, the unit also increases sending out notices of fines," said Major Le Van Dong.
During the upcoming September 2nd holiday, Traffic Police Team No. 6 will continue to deploy flycams to record passenger vehicles parked illegally.
