The 45th Southeast Asian Shooting Championship (SEASA) ended on November 16 in Taiwan (China). Hai Duong had 1 coach and 2 athletes competing in this tournament.
With a total of 11 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, the Vietnamese shooting team ranked 2nd out of 9 countries and territories, after host Taiwan. Meanwhile, Thai shooters disappointed when they only won 1 gold medal at this tournament.
Coach Vu Khanh Hai of the Hai Duong shooting team said that both Hai Duong shooters, members of the Vietnam national shooting team, won medals. Shooter Nguyen Van Quan won 1 individual silver medal, 1 team silver medal in the men's 50m rifle event; shooter Nguyen Thi Dung won 1 team silver medal in the women's 25m pistol event.
The Southeast Asian Shooting Championship attracted 150 shooters from 9 countries and territories, including: Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan (China).
Immediately after the above tournament, Hai Duong shooters left for the 2023 National Shooting Tournament. At this tournament, Hai Duong team has 4 coaches and 29 athletes (including 2 coaches who are also athletes). The team was assigned the target of 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.
