On February 26 (January 17), the first Hai Duong province extended cross-country race "Journey to connect cultural heritage" closed and awarded prizes.
As a result, in the 5km distance, athletes Doan Thu Hang and Luong Duc Phuoc won first place in the professional category; Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet and Nguyen Van Cuong won first place in the amateur category.
In the 10 km distance, athletes Le Van Thao and Bui Thi Thu Ha won first place in the professional category; Lo Bao Tam and Le Minh Tuan won first place in the amateur category.
15 km distance, athletes Nguyen Trung Cuong and Nguyen Thi Oanh won first place in the professional category; Ha Van Duoc and Doan Thi Oanh won first place in the amateur category.
Athletes Nguyen Thi Oanh, Luong Duc Phuoc, Nguyen Trung Cuong, Bui Thi Thu Ha... are all members of the Vietnam national athletics team.
The "Journey of Connecting Cultural Heritage" cross-country race is one of the key activities of the 2004 Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival, held at the Con Son - Kiep Bac special national relic complex (Chi Linh City). This is the largest professional cross-country race held for the first time in Hai Duong.
Through this tournament, Hai Duong not only has the opportunity to exchange, learn and develop the sports movement but also has the opportunity to introduce to domestic and international friends the beauty of Hai Duong land and people; the potential and strengths of socio-economic development; the outstanding global value of the Con Son - Kiep Bac special national relic site in the process of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac dossier being considered by UNESCO for recognition as a world heritage.
The race has 3 distances: 5 km (one lap around Con Son Lake), 10 km (from the parking lot at the foot of Ngu Nhac Mountain to the main gate of Kiep Bac Temple) and 15 km (from the parking lot at the foot of Ngu Nhac Mountain, one lap around Con Son Lake to the main gate of Kiep Bac Temple).
The tournament attracted nearly 1,000 professional and amateur athletes to participate, including many members of the national team, Southeast Asian level such as Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Trung Cuong, Bui Thi Thu Ha, Le Van Thao, Luong Duc Phuoc and some famous athletes such as Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai (former Vice Chairman of District 1 People's Committee, Ho Chi Minh City).
