The cross-country race "Journey to connect cultural heritage" organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the occasion of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival this year will use chip-embedded BIB cards to control athletes and evaluate their performance.
This is the first time the BIB card has appeared at a professional cross-country race held in Hai Duong.
BIB is a tool that shows a series of numbers marking the athlete, which can be understood as the athlete's registration number. The BIB card is equipped with a chip that measures running time, running route, determine the most transparent and fair way for each athlete's performance.
In addition, BIB cards can also control running speed, detect speed abnormalities for the referee to verify and handle if there is cheating. Without using BIB cards, with the number of several thousand athletes, the Organizing Committee will have difficulty determining accurate results. BIB tags are made of durable, waterproof material and are pinned to each athlete's clothing.
The "Cultural Heritage Connection Journey" cross-country race will have 3 distances: 5 km, 10 km and 15 km. After the race, the Organizing Committee will make a comprehensive assessment and serve as a basis for organizing the 42 km cross-country race at appropriate times.
The tournament is scheduled to be held on February 26 (January 17). Central and local delegates will be present at the opening ceremony, run in response, and then attend the ceremony to worship heaven and earth on Ngu Nhac Linh Tu mountain.
All three distances above start from the Con Son Pagoda parking lot. The 5 km distance will run around Con Son Lake, the 10 km distance will go to the Kiep Bac Temple gate, the 15 km distance will go around Con Son Lake and to the Kiep Bac Temple gate.
The tournament is expected to have about 1,000 athletes participating, including professional athletes and foreign athletes working in Vietnam.
