Ministry of National Defense summarizes defense work in central and local ministries and branches

Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, chaired the conference. The report presented by Lieutenant General Pham Quang Ngan, Director of the Department of Militia and Self-Defense, at the conference stated that in 2022, central and local agencies and units led and directed the enhancement of the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, and the comprehensive completion of national defense work.

In particular, the work of national defense and security education has many innovations and achieved good results. Nationwide, more than 327,000 subjects have been trained in national defense and security knowledge; 93.25% of students and trainees have studied national defense and security education. The work of propagating and disseminating national defense and security knowledge to all people has been carried out synchronously with rich content and forms, suitable for the locality, helping to raise awareness and responsibility for cadres, party members and people to grasp the Party's guidelines, policies and viewpoints, and the State's policies and laws on national defense and national protection.

Central and local ministries, branches have actively directed the implementation of economic, cultural and social development strategies, national target programs associated with national defense and security strategies, focusing on border areas, islands and key areas. Concluding the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh agreed with the assessment contents in the report and suggested that in the coming time, central ministries and branches should pay attention to closely coordinating with the Ministry of National Defense in drafting laws; researching and proposing policies for the armed forces, especially for the militia and self-defense forces and medical forces when performing special and specific tasks in preventing and combating epidemics, natural disasters and catastrophes.

Ministries and localities direct competent agencies to closely coordinate in appraising strategies, plans, projects, and projects related to national defense and coordinate to promptly and thoroughly resolve shortcomings, limitations, and obstacles in the implementation process. Localities continue to focus on investing in building components and military postures of defense zones, with plans, schedules, and construction roadmaps; innovate and improve the quality of defense zone exercises, ensuring substance and effectiveness.
