Ministry of Public Security calls on subjects related to Phuc Son Group case to surrender

Regarding the case that occurred at Phuc Son Group and related units, up to now, the Ministry of Public Security has prosecuted and temporarily detained 15 defendants for the crimes of: Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences, Receiving bribes, Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences, and Taking advantage of influence over people with positions and powers for personal gain.

The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency calls on the subjects involved in the case to promptly surrender, denounce the crime and remedy the consequences to enjoy the leniency of the law.

Previously, the Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Van Hau (aka Hau "Phao", Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company), for the crime of violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences.

In addition, the Ministry of Public Security also prosecuted 5 related people, including: Nguyen Thi Hang (Deputy General Director), Do Thi Mai (Chief Accountant), Hoang Thi Tuyet Hanh (accountant), Tran Huu Dinh (Director of Nam A Group Investment Joint Stock Company) and Nguyen Hong Son for the above crime.

The above defendants were prosecuted for acts of forgery, false declaration, leaving out of accounting books revenue, related assets... causing particularly serious damage to the State, violating Clause 3, Article 221 of the 2015 Penal Code (amended and supplemented in 2017).

Expanding the case that occurred at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, on March 8, the Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained 9 more defendants. Among them, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Le Duy Thanh, Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee, were both prosecuted for the crime of "Accepting bribes", stipulated in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code.

Also prosecuted for this crime in the case are Mr. Cao Khoa, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province; Mr. Dang Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, delegate of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, former Director of the Department of Transport of Quang Ngai province.

The Investigation Police Agency prosecuted, arrested and searched Mr. Ha Hoang Viet Phuong, Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, former Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Quang Ngai province; Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport, former Head of the Technical and Quality Department of the Department of Transport of Quang Ngai province; Mr. Le Quoc Dat, Director of the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Traffic Works, former Head of the Investment Management Department of the Department of Transport of Quang Ngai province and Pham Ngoc Cuong, Deputy General Director of Phuc Son Group, all for the crime of Violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences, as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 222 of the Penal Code.

Mr. Dang Trung Hoanh, Chief of Office of Mang Thit District Party Committee, Vinh Long Province, was prosecuted for the crime of "Taking advantage of influence over people with positions and powers for personal gain", stipulated in Clause 3, Article 366 of the Penal Code.

The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is consolidating documents and evidence for the violations of the defendants who have been prosecuted, continuing to expand the investigation of the case, clarifying other violations of Phuc Son Group in localities and related units, and applying measures according to the provisions of law to thoroughly recover assets for the State.
