On February 25, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to launch the National Data Center.

On October 30, 2023, the Government issued Resolution No. 175/NQ-CP approving the National Data Center Project; in which, the Ministry of Public Security was assigned to establish the National Data Center as a unit equivalent to the Department level under the Ministry of Public Security.
The National Data Center is a data center assigned by the Government to the Ministry of Public Security to build, manage, exploit and operate the integration, synchronization, storage, sharing, analysis, exploitation and coordination of data of State agencies according to the provisions of law to form a human data warehouse and a synthetic data warehouse from national databases.
Data at the National Data Center is the core platform providing data-related services, supporting policy making, creating development, building digital government, digital society and digital economy, ensuring national defense and security, and is an important driving force in building a new era of prosperity. At the same time, providing technological infrastructure for socio-political organizations, national database systems and agencies in need of exploitation, operation, efficiency improvement, and network security.
Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo strongly affirmed the role of the National Data Center, when identifying the Center as the "core" and pillar of the national digital transformation process, data is identified as the main means of production of the new era, data infrastructure is one of the four pillars of the digital era.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that along with the success of Project 06, the National Data Center with the goal of promoting the value of data - a valuable resource, new means of production to create a driving force for innovation, improve labor productivity, national competitiveness, and raise the country's position - continues to be the vision, orientation, and special attention of the Party and State. This is also a comprehensive data warehouse, a pillar for developing and forming digital products, reliable data systems of the State, in order to connect, share, and create many new values for development, contributing to ensuring safe and stable digital infrastructure, creating a solid foundation for the process of building a digital government, digital economy, and digital society.
Urgently implementing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 175 of the Government, the National Data Center was built and put into operation to carry out the noble mission that the Party and State leaders have entrusted to the People's Public Security force.
Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Board of Directors of the National Data Center to urgently coordinate with relevant units to develop and advise on the issuance of guiding documents to ensure consistency and take effect at the same time as the Data Law; research and develop a Data Science Innovation Fund to support individuals and start-up businesses in the field of data; coordinate research and develop mechanisms and policies to encourage the exploitation and use of data to promote innovation and digital economic development.
Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the Center needs to closely coordinate with the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order to promote the early completion of national databases, specialized databases, especially core databases to develop a comprehensive data warehouse, data associated with people is the main pillar, creating a foundation for the development of digital government, promoting the digital economy and forming a digital society.
Develop and deploy a set of standards for planning the architecture of national databases on data classification and decentralization; complete specific planning for storage and establish information security and safety policies for each type of data.
Coordinate research and develop regulations for synchronizing data from population and identity database; research and advise on early construction of data platform and open data portal.
Regarding technology and security infrastructure, it is necessary to urgently build and complete the necessary infrastructure conditions, ensuring progress so that the National Data Center can officially operate from August 19, 2025; with the requirement that the infrastructure must be modern, have long-term use value; be unified and synchronous in operation, management and ensure absolute security, safety, savings, efficiency...
