Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang: Innovating training content and programs according to competency standards

On the morning of November 19, comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee visited and congratulated Hai Duong University of Medical Technology and Tan Binh Secondary School (Hai Duong City) on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024).

Presenting flowers to congratulate Hai Duong Medical Technical University, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that with the spirit of solidarity, overcoming difficulties and creativity, the school has achieved comprehensive achievements and is a reliable address for training medical human resources for the country, making an important contribution to the cause of caring for, protecting and improving people's health.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested the school to continue to unite, promote democracy, innovation, focus on effectively implementing the resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central and Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee on education and health care, especially fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; further promote the Campaign "innovating the style and service attitude of medical staff towards patient satisfaction".

The school needs to focus on training and improving the quality of the staff and lecturers, ensuring sufficient quantity and reasonable structure; increasing the proportion of PhDs, associate professors, and professors to meet university standards. The Provincial Party Secretary requested the school to continue to innovate training content and programs according to competency standards; implement postgraduate training, open new training majors and pilot training to meet the needs of medical facilities, society and international integration. Strengthen continuous training, prioritize primary health care, make breakthroughs in the management of chronic patients, non-communicable diseases, and family health management. Actively expand cooperation in training, scientific research and provision of medical services with universities and hospitals at home and abroad, especially in Hai Duong.

The school strengthens its connection with human resource facilities, develops relationships with practice hospitals from the central to the grassroots level. The school's hospital develops new techniques according to its strengths; improves the quality of medical examination and treatment, and serves the people better.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested the school to proactively coordinate with units in Hai Duong province, Hai Duong Medical College is ready to carry out the merger when there is a decision of the Prime Minister and ensure stable operation after the merger. At the same time, he requested the leaders of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, and leaders of hospitals in the province to continue to support and make more practical and effective contributions to the training, scientific research and medical examination and treatment of the school. Hai Duong province will accompany the school so that teachers can feel secure in dedicating themselves to the cause of training medical human resources and medical examination and treatment, serving the community, contributing to the development of Hai Duong province.

Congratulating at Tan Binh Secondary School, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang affirmed that Hai Duong province pays special attention to the development of education and training, focusing on high-quality human resources to meet the goals of innovation and integration.

The Provincial Party Secretary shared the difficulties in facilities and lack of classrooms of the school in recent years. He assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with departments, branches, and Hai Duong City to promptly implement procedures and processes to start construction and supplement the school's missing classrooms. By the end of the 2025-2026 school year, the school's missing classroom project must be completed and put into use.
