Real estate company director arrested for fraud and property appropriation

According to the investigation, Nguyen Van Minh is the Director of Phuc Anh Real Estate Company Limited (in Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City). After brokering the sale of a plot of land in Phu Giao District (Binh Duong Province), although he was not the landowner, Nguyen Van Minh arbitrarily divided the land into 7 small plots and provided false information that Phuc Anh Real Estate Company Limited was the owner of the plots of land to offer for sale to customers.

On March 22, 2021, Minh used the legal entity Phuc Anh Real Estate Company Limited to sign a contract to transfer 1 plot of land on this land plot to Ms. H (residing in Tan Uyen city, Binh Duong province) for 900 million VND. Having received the full amount of money, Nguyen Van Minh did not fulfill his contractual obligations and appropriated 900 million VND from Ms. H.

Authorities are investigating and clarifying the incident further.

According to Mr. Tran Van Chinh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Provincial Police, in the first 9 months of 2023, the situation of complaints related to real estate projects in the province has been complicated. There have been 54 cases with 1,726 people gathering to file complaints; 8 cases of collective complaints have arisen.
