Arrest of subject in Kinh Mon paying workers with drugs

The Investigation Police Agency of Nam Sach District Police has just prosecuted and detained Bui Van Lam, born in 1992, in That Hung Ward (Kinh Mon, Hai Duong) for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.

According to the investigation results, on January 6, 2024, at a rented room in An Binh commune (Nam Sach) rented by Lam, the authorities caught Lam hiding 12 paper packages and 1 plastic bag containing heroin, with a total weight of 2.197 grams.

Previously, Lam had sold 2-3 paper packages containing heroin to 4 people in Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Son La, and Lai Chau provinces, each worth 100,000 VND. These people were all workers making formwork under Lam’s management to build factories in industrial parks in Nam Sach district.

Lam said that he is currently managing more than 20 workers and seasonal workers, mainly concentrated in the northern mountainous provinces (including about 10-12 drug addicts). The agreed salary per day is about 300,000 VND. If any case requires drugs, Lam will provide them, then deduct them from the salary at the end of the month, each package is converted to 100,000 VND.

After Lam was arrested, the drug supply was cut off, and Lo Van Anh, born in 2000, in Thuan Chau district, Son La province (a worker previously managed by Lam) went to Hai Phong to buy drugs for use. Later, this subject was also caught red-handed by Nam Sach district police.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Nam Sach District Police has initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, temporarily detained a number of related subjects, and continues to expand the investigation to handle according to the provisions of law. It is known that this is an unprecedented case in Nam Sach District.
