How was the gang that robbed more than 2 million USD in Tay Ninh arrested?

On the afternoon of March 24, the Criminal Police Department of Tay Ninh Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department (C02, Ministry of Public Security) to extradite Dao Xuan Loc (33 years old), Nguyen Tuan Anh and Nguyen Anh Duy (both 32 years old) from Gia Lai for investigation. This group was arrested under a special wanted warrant for robbery.

Regarding the case, the investigation agency previously arrested Pham Ly Phuong (34 years old) and Le Nguyen Binh (37 years old) for robbery and concealing criminals.

According to initial investigation, Phuong was the one who set up the scenario of robbing his parents' money in Thuan Tay hamlet, Loi Thuan commune, Ben Cau district. He colluded with Loc, Tuan Anh and Duy to pretend to be police officers and come to his house to "check the origin" of the money of more than 2.2 million USD.

On the afternoon of March 10, a group of fake police officers came to Phuong's house, asked the family to explain the origin of the foreign currency, and then "invited them to the police station for questioning". Thinking they were real police, Phuong's mother agreed. While she was preparing her belongings, the group took the money and escaped.

Phuong was unable to contact the robbers afterwards. On the afternoon of March 11, he and his family went to the Criminal Police Department of Tay Ninh Province Police to report the incident.

The Criminal Police Department assessed the nature of the case as complicated, extremely serious, with huge property damage, so it reported to the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department and C02 for direction. Many forces were then dispatched to verify and arrest those involved.

On March 15, the investigation agency arrested Binh at a hotel in the Le Trong Tan New Urban Area, Duong Noi Ward (Ha Dong District, Hanoi). Searching the residence, the police seized nearly 2 million USD as evidence of the case.

After determining the roles of the remaining 3 robbers, Tay Ninh Provincial Police issued a wanted notice, coordinating with C02 and forces from many provinces and cities to capture them.

"During their escape, the group moved continuously to erase their traces, making it difficult for the pursuing force. The scouts had to follow every single trace, following them for many days and nights through many provinces and cities from North to South," said an investigator.

After nearly 2 weeks of tracking, this afternoon, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with Tay Ninh and Gia Lai Police to discover 3 robbers hiding in a motel in Chu Se district (Gia Lai province), so they surrounded and raided to control them.
