Regarding the incident of a restaurant in Nha Trang selling white rice for 250,000 VND, stir-fried water spinach for 500,000 VND..., on the evening of February 4, Mr. Ho Van Tam, owner of AB restaurant (Nguyen Thien Thuat street) said that the incident was not as MH's account posted on social media.

According to Mr. Tam, at around 6 p.m. on February 3, a group of nearly 20 Chinese tourists entered the restaurant. "My restaurant has a menu selling portions per person, with prices listed. When the group of guests ordered 1 portion for nearly 20 people, the consultant said '1 portion is only enough for 1 person', but the tour guide said 'just make enough for 20 people, money is not important'." Mr. Tam explained.

When calculating the combined bill as the bill posted online, the group of guests did not agree, they said "calculated according to the menu price".

After the two sides "negotiated", this group of customers agreed to pay 4,482 yuan (more than 15.6 million VND). "We made a mistake with the staff, because we did not advise carefully, so the restaurant only accepted more than 15 million VND out of a total bill of more than 20 million VND," said Mr. Tam.

The owner added that there was a woman who was a tour guide who asked for a commission (a discount given separately - PV) on the bill, but the restaurant did not accept it. "This person was the one who introduced the group of guests to the restaurant, asking for a percentage to explain to the group of guests. But in the end, this person did not say anything, causing the guests to not pay the full amount, so I did not accept the percentage," The owner explained.

Regarding the white rice priced at 250,000 VND, stir-fried water spinach priced at 500,000 VND..., the restaurant owner explained "that's a portion for 20 people, the bill is calculated together so the price is like that".

Regarding the 4.7 million VND Tet surcharge, the restaurant owner explained that it was because this group of guests brought their own medicinal wine, beer and tea into the restaurant. The restaurant had negotiated that "there would be a surcharge" from the beginning.

Previously, on social media, an MH account appeared, saying that while surfing the Chinese Xiaohongshu app, he came across a post from a tourist in Nha Trang.

"Looking at the bill, the restaurant charged for the very expensive dishes: grilled eggplant with scallion oil is 1,250,000 VND/portion, stir-fried water spinach with garlic is 500,000 VND/plate, total of 2 plates is 1,000,000 VND, beef/chicken pho is 325,000 VND/bowl, white rice is 250,000 VND/portion, total of 500,000 VND; 2 cans of Coca are 200,000 VND, Tiger (beer) is also 100,000 VND/can".

This account added that there were many other dishes that the restaurant charged sky-high prices. Not stopping there, the total cost of the meal was 15,724,000 VND, the restaurant continued to charge an additional surcharge of 4,717,200 VND for Tet holiday, the customer paid a total of 20,441,200 VND.

Currently, Nha Trang City authorities are clarifying the above information.
