Mao Dien Temple of Literature in Mau Tai village (Cam Dien commune) is the second largest relic in the system of Vietnamese temples of literature, after the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi). This is the place that inherits and continues the ancient Hai Duong Temple of Literature, the relic was built in the 15th century in Vinh Lai commune, Duong An district. During the Quang Trung period, at the end of the 18th century, the Temple of Literature was moved from Vinh Lai commune to Mao Dien commune, merged with the school and examination school, becoming the place to train thousands of bachelors and doctors of Confucianism, ranking first in the country.

Currently, the Temple of Literature worships Confucius - the founder of Confucianism and also worships 8 great scholars representing dynasties and fields who are the children of Hai Duong and famous people who are deeply related to the history and culture of Hai Duong, such as the teacher of all generations Chu Van An, the first prize winner of two countries Mac Dinh Chi, the famous - Zen master Tue Tinh, the national hero, the world cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai, the Vietnamese math genius - doctor Vu Huu... The talents and virtues of the famous people worshiped here will forever be shining examples for future generations to follow, at the same time reminding generations to continue to pay attention to the cause of education - training and nurturing talents.

Nowadays, the Temple of Literature also organizes educational activities such as: organizing scientific education seminars; meeting and honoring doctors from the East in the new era; organizing programs to encourage learning, commend excellent students and students with high achievements in university entrance exams.

On the sidelines of the festival, there are booths displaying OCOP products of Cam Giang district.

Within the framework of the festival, there are unique and special activities, especially the Ceremony of Offering Words to Saints, the four Chinese characters Ton - Su - Trong - Dao, to honor Confucianism, honor the ancestors, symbols of the studiousness of the Eastern region through the ages.

The festival lasts until March 9. After the festival, the Mao Dien Temple of Literature, a special national relic, will continue to open its doors to visitors.
