5 Vietnamese scientists in the top 10,000 scientists in the world

It is known that the author of this publication is still the Metrics group of professors Jeroen Baas, Kevin Boyack and John PA Ioannidis of Stanford University in the United States, researching and publishing in the US journal PLoS Biology.

Accordingly, the group of authors used the Scopus database from 1960 to August 2021 of more than 7 million scientists and filtered out the top 100,000 most influential people.

Following previous years, the study did not change in measurement and evaluation tools when the research team updated the database of more than 100,000 most cited scientists (from Scopus data source) and ranked them based on important criteria such as: impact index in the scientific community (composite score); total number of citations (excluding self-citations); Hirsch h-index; Schreiber hm-index; number of citations for articles published as a single author; number of citations for articles with the main author (first name - first author and corresponding author - corresponding author), and last author - last author...

Scientists are divided into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields (disciplines/specialties).

In order of this ranking, Vietnam has 5 scientists in the top 10,000 scientists in the world, including: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Hanoi National University continues to be the leader among Vietnamese scientists, ranked 5949 in the world (and ranked 96 in the world in the field of Engineering), followed by Associate Professor Dr. Le Hoang Son (Hanoi National University) - ranked 6766, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) - ranked 6818, Prof. Dr. Bui Tien Dieu (Duy Tan University) - 9488, Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics) - ranked 9528.
