Implementing the President's amnesty decision in 2024, 135 prisoners at Hoang Tien Prison (Chi Linh City) and Detention Camp (Hai Duong Provincial Police) were amnestied and returned to their families and society.
On the morning of October 1, Hoang Tien Prison (Department of Police Management of Prisons, Compulsory Education Facilities, and Reformatory Schools, Ministry of Public Security) held a ceremony to announce the decision to grant amnesty in 2024 to 119 prisoners serving prison sentences, including 44 people in Hai Duong province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Duc Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province, emphasized that amnesty is an act that demonstrates the humanitarian tradition of our nation, the lenient policy of the Party and State towards those sentenced to imprisonment who have truly made progress in reform. Amnesty encourages those serving prison sentences to repent, reform, actively study and work to reform in order to enjoy leniency.
The Party Committees, authorities and organizations in Hai Duong always create all conditions and hope that after being reformed and pardoned, prisoners will actively and proactively integrate into the community, do honest work, absolutely not re-offend, and truly become good citizens for their families and society.
To help those who have been pardoned to rebuild their lives soon, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Duc Tuan requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province direct the effective implementation of Decree No. 49/2020/ND-CP of the Government on community reintegration for those who have completed their prison sentences. Along with that, direct social organizations, businesses, individuals and relatives of families not to discriminate, create the most favorable conditions for those who have been pardoned to quickly reintegrate into the community, find jobs, stabilize their lives...
Representing the pardoned prisoners, prisoner Ngo Quang Vinh, born in 1975 and from Dong Nai province, thanked the Party and State for their attention to those who had made mistakes and had the opportunity to return to the community soon. The prisoners promised to actively practice and strive to become good citizens when they return to their localities and hoped that prisoners who have not been pardoned will continue to reform well so that they can soon enjoy the humane policies of the Party and State.
On the same morning, the Hai Duong Provincial Police Detention Center announced the decision to grant amnesty to 16 prisoners serving prison sentences.
At the ceremony, Colonel Pham Chi Hieu, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, requested that after being pardoned, the citizens would soon stabilize their lives, do honest work, actively contribute to their families and society, absolutely not re-offend, and not affect the security and order situation of the locality where they reside.
For prisoners who have not been granted amnesty this time, they need to continue to actively study, work hard, comply with the regulations of the detention facility, and strive to soon enjoy the leniency policy of the Party and the State.
