According to information from the Office of the Traffic Safety Committee of Hai Duong province, from 0:00 on August 31 to 12:00 on September 1, the provincial authorities received, handled, and investigated 4 traffic accidents that killed 3 people and injured 2 others.
Traffic accidents occurred in Binh Giang, Gia Loc, Nam Sach districts and Kinh Mon town.
Two out of four traffic accidents involving alcohol concentration occurred in Gia Loc and Nam Sach districts. Specifically, the first incident occurred at 10 p.m. on August 31. at km5+725 of the North-South axis road in Thong Kenh commune (Gia Loc). Mr. NQS, born in 1999, from Van Hoi commune (Ninh Giang), was riding a motorbike 34K3-0367 from Gia Loc to Ninh Giang when he crashed into a bicycle driven by Mr. NTV, born in 1989, from Quang Nghiep commune (Tu Ky), who was riding in the same direction in front. As a result, Mr. S. suffered a traumatic brain injury and later died at 9:30 a.m. on September 1 at home. Mr. V. suffered a head injury and is currently being treated at Hai Duong Provincial General Hospital. Test results showed that Mr. S. had alcohol in his body. It was dark at the scene of the accident and there were no lights.
The second incident occurred at 7:25 p.m. on August 31, at km 4+500 of Provincial Road 390 in Nam Trung Commune (Nam Sach). Mr. NVT, born in 1986 in Nam Chinh Commune (Nam Sach), was riding a motorbike 34B5-012.59 on Provincial Road 390 in the direction of Nam Sach Town to Nam Chinh Commune. When he arrived at the above location, he crashed into Mr. NVC, born in 1959 in Nam Trung Commune (Nam Sach), who was crossing the street. As a result, Mr. C. suffered a traumatic brain injury and was taken to Hai Duong Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment, and later died at home. The result of Mr. T.'s alcohol concentration test was 0.883 mg/l of breath. The victim C. had a history of mental illness.
From 0:00 on August 31 to 12:00 on September 1, the traffic police force of Hai Duong province inspected and handled 640 cases of traffic safety violations, fined more than 1.9 billion VND, revoked 194 driving licenses, and detained 177 vehicles. Of these, 148 cases violated alcohol concentration, 27 cases violated speed, 8 cases violated load and cargo wall, 269 cases did not wear helmets, etc.
