In 2023, the functional forces of the Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (Steering Committee 389) of Hai Duong province inspected 1,344 cases of goods with signs of violations.
Of which, there were 1,157 cases of commercial fraud, 140 cases of contraband goods, 47 cases of counterfeit goods and intellectual property violations; 56 cases and 65 subjects were prosecuted.
The total amount of administrative fines from goods violations is more than 106.3 billion VND. The value of additional fines and tax arrears is more than 89.3 billion VND. According to the assessment of Steering Committee 389, in 2023, there will be no speculation, hoarding, or unreasonable price increases in Hai Duong, especially for petrol and oil businesses. However, violations of goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property violations tend to increase in the last months of the year.
Currently, Steering Committee 389 closely follows the actual situation in the province, focusing on the peak of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the 2024 Lunar New Year.
