Multiple accidents in Hanoi: Searching for driver involved in killing 4 mother and children

On the afternoon of July 16, Hanoi City Police announced that regarding the multiple traffic accidents that occurred at the intersection between DH05 and Ba Chang roads (in Duong Lieu commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi), the police agency determined that 4 mothers and children in one family died.

Initially, the authorities determined that the truck 88H-288.xx collided with the truck 29C-597xx traveling in the same direction, causing the truck to crash into the bridge railing. At that moment, a motorbike with license plate 29B1-087.xx driven by a woman carrying 3 children aged 10-15 was moving on the bridge and was pressed against the bridge railing by the small truck. The strong collision caused the motorbike and 4 people on the motorbike to be pinned against the railing, leading to death.

The victims were identified as Ms. NTH (born in 1991, residing in Hoai Duc); NTKO (born in 2011), NTTM (born in 2013) and NTS (born in 2015).

The police agency determined that Mr. LVN (born in 1966, residing in Dan Phuong, Hanoi) was the injured driver of the truck with license plate 29C-597xx.

The driver of the car with license plate 88C-288.xx is D.VL (born in 1986, residing in Cao Bang), who left the scene after the accident. The Investigation Police Agency of Hoai Duc District Police is searching for the driver L.

The cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by Hoai Duc District Police in coordination with functional units of Hanoi City Police.
