Recently, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the airport in the capital Sanaa of Yemen was hit by an airstrike while he was preparing to board a plane, the damaged area was just a few meters away from him.
"One crew member was injured. At least two people at the airport were killed. The control tower, the boarding lounge, just a few meters away from us, and the runway were damaged," Tedros said.
Mr Tedros was in Yemen over Christmas to try to negotiate the release of 16 UN staff, as well as diplomatic and NGO workers held by the Houthis.
In connection with the incident, a video was broadcast on Al-Masirah TV channel in Yemen showing the scene of the WHO Director-General being rushed out of the VIP lounge at the Yemeni capital's airport during an airstrike on December 26.
Speaking after the incident, Mr Tedros said he was not sure at the time whether he would survive the airstrike. He said he and his entourage were stuck at the airport for an hour after hearing drones flying overhead, raising fears of another attack.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) previously announced attacks on infrastructure used by the Houthi armed group for military purposes at the capital Sanaa airport, the Hezyaz and Ras Kanatib power plants, and the ports of Hodeidah, Salif and Ras Issa on the western coast of Yemen.
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern about the risk of escalating conflict in the region and called on relevant parties to exercise maximum restraint and stop all military activities.
