On October 12, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company informed about the train operation plan and passenger service during the Lunar New Year 2024.
The Tet train schedule is calculated from January 26 to February 26, 2024 (ie from December 16 to January 17).
According to Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, compared to last year, peak-time ticket prices for Lunar New Year 2024 will increase by 1-4%, depending on seats and train type.
In the off-peak period, ticket prices decreased by 1-8% compared to last year. The highest ticket price is 2,950,000 VND/longest sleeper ticket (Saigon - Hanoi) and the lowest is 1,900,000 VND/ticket (longest route).
Regarding ticket sales, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will accept group ticket registrations from September 30 to 2:00 p.m. on October 14. It is expected that on October 15, the station will sell tickets to registered groups.
Notably, from 8am on October 20, the Company will open individual ticket sales. Each passenger can book and buy no more than 10 tickets for the outbound trip and 10 tickets for the return trip.
Estimated number of seats supplied (from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi 10 days before Tet and from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City 15 days after Tet is about 390 trips with more than 200,000 seats).
According to the train operation plan: Thong Nhat passenger train (Saigon - Hanoi and vice versa) will run 10 pairs including: Trains SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, SE9/SE10, SE11/SE12, SE23/SE24, SE27/SE28, TN3/TN4, TN5/TN6.
Meanwhile, the regional passenger train also runs 10 pairs including the following routes: Saigon - Vinh (SE13/SE14, SE15/SE16); Saigon - Dong Hoi (SE17/SE18); Saigon - Da Nang (SE21/SE22); Saigon - Quang Ngai (SE25/SE26); Saigon - Quy Nhon (SE29/SE30); Saigon - Nha Trang (SNT1/SNT2, SNT11/SNT12); Saigon - Phan Thiet (SPT1/SPT2); Hanoi - Da Nang (SE19/SE20).
During the Tet holiday (from February 9 to February 12, 2024), the Company also organizes additional train pairs from Saigon to Hue, Da Nang, Tam Ky, Quang Ngai, Nha Trang... and vice versa to serve passengers traveling for spring.
During the peak period of Tet Giap Thin 2024: From Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi before Tet, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City after Tet: 3% discount on ticket prices for trains departing from Saigon station on February 8, 2024 (ie December 29 of the Lunar calendar) and traveling from 1,000 km or more.
2% - 8% discount on ticket prices for groups of 10 or more people traveling by train between January 26, 2024 and January 31, 2024 (for even-numbered trains) and February 19, 2024 and February 26, 2024 (for odd-numbered trains).
Tour guides also receive a 90% discount on tickets for seats or sleeper berths in cabins of 6 and a 30% discount on tickets for sleeper berths in cabins of 4.
At the same time, a 5% discount on return tickets will be applied to passengers purchasing round-trip tickets; a 20% discount on tickets for students of universities, academies, colleges, vocational and technical high schools from January 26 to January 31, 2024, from February 9 to February 26, 2024 (for even-numbered trains) and from February 9 to February 12, 2024; from February 20 to February 26, 2024 (for odd-numbered trains). Other periods will be reduced by 10%.
Low season: from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City before Tet, from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi after Tet. During low season, the company also offers promotional programs to reduce ticket prices from 5% to 30% for passengers such as: buying tickets for a long time, buying in groups, round trip.
In addition, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company also applies discounts for social policy beneficiaries such as Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids, people infected with toxic chemicals, people with severe disabilities, the elderly, children, union members, and passengers with customer cards.
