On the afternoon of June 27, the Gia Bao Hai Duong U9 football team was crowned champion of the 2024 Championship Football Tournament, organized by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Football Federation.
The tournament has 5 U10 teams and 5 U9 teams competing for 2 championship titles. U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong is in the same group with U9 Viet Hung Thanh Hoa, U9 Hanoi Club, U9 T&T VSH Nghe An and U9 Hanoi Police.
The teams competed in a round robin to calculate points. As a result, U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong beat U9 Hanoi Club 2-1, beat Cong An Hanoi 4-1, lost to T&T VSH Nghe An 1-3 and lost to Viet Hung Thanh Hoa 1-3. With 6 points after 2 wins, the coefficient is -1 but U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong still won the championship because they had more points than the remaining teams.
This is the first championship of the Gia Bao Hai Duong U9 football team after less than 3 months of training. The team was founded and funded by businessman Nguyen Dinh Giang, Director of Gia Bao Company Limited. The Gia Bao Hai Duong U9 football team currently has 20 players, selected from localities in the province, led by coach Nguyen Hung Hoang. In addition to the Gia Bao Hai Duong U9 team, businessman Nguyen Dinh Giang is also the sponsor of the Gia Bao Hai Duong U11 team, which has won 5 national championships.
The next goal of U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong will be the national U9 final round, taking place in August this year in Gia Lai.
