China launches new remote sensing satellite

On December 10, China launched the Long March-2D rocket, sending the Yaogan-39 remote sensing satellite into space.

The Long March-2D rocket was launched at 9:58 a.m. Beijing time (8:58 a.m. Hanoi time) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province, Southwest China, putting the Yaogan-39 satellite into a predetermined orbit.

This is the 500th mission of the Long March rocket series.

China launched the Yaogan-33 04 remote sensing satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China in late September. The Yaogan-33 04 satellite serves scientific experiments, land resource surveys, crop yield estimates, as well as disaster prevention and relief.
