Delegates and people in the province were delighted to visit and exhibit the Four-panel painting for the first time - a unique, traditional folk art form imbued with national cultural identity.

Along with enjoying the Four Seasons paintings, delegates attending the event also got to participate in many other experiential activities, associated with the Vietnamese Tet space such as: printing folk paintings, writing calligraphy, wrapping Chung cakes, making Tet jam, enjoying tea, experiencing unique traditional costumes, listening to Ca Tru singing...

Through the Four Seasons paintings, today's descendants can partly understand the concept of time and lifestyle of people from ancient times.

The above topics and experiential activities are held at the Provincial Museum from January 10 to February 15, helping people and tourists have more interesting experiences before, during and after Tet At Ty.

Also at the opening ceremony, the Provincial Museum received a red flag with a yellow star stamped with 21 Vietnamese islands presented by Working Group No. 10 of T.D.A. Marine Environment Treatment Joint Stock Company (Hai Phong).

According to Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum Nguyen Anh Minh, the Four-panel painting is one of the folk painting genres that has become a cultural heritage of Vietnam. The Four-panel painting set consists of 4 paintings, often with metaphorical implications for 4 stages in a year, 4 stages in life, 4 anecdotes in a story or 4 different beauties of girls... and often has Chinese or Nom poems.

These are blessings and wishes for peace and prosperity, evoking the viewer to think of serenity, looking at the paintings as if they were traveling in heaven and earth. That is why people like to hang the Four Seasons paintings in their homes to welcome spring or to worship, depending on the content of each set of paintings.
