Tesla is recalling more than 20 Tesla Model Y vehicles manufactured in late October after discovering a problem with the seats that could increase the risk of injury to passengers in the event of a crash, Carscoops reports. This is just the latest in a series of quality control issues for the electric car company.

The affected Tesla Model Y vehicles were manufactured between October 28 and 30. The problem lies primarily in the seats, specifically in the welds that secure the reclining mechanism.

If the welds are not properly finished, the integrity of the seat may be compromised, resulting in an inability to restrain the passenger in the event of a collision.

Owners of affected Model Ys will be able to easily spot the problem. Loose or wobbly seats, difficulty reclining, or inability to recline are all signs of the issue. A total of 27 Tesla Model Ys are affected by the recall.

Tesla engineers began investigating the seat issue on October 29 after the factory's welding equipment developed a fault.

Tesla said it has not received any warranty claims related to the seat issue.

According to Carscoops, owners of affected vehicles need to take their vehicles to a service center to have the seat assembly replaced free of charge.
