Volvo Cars Vietnam Company - the importer and distributor of Volvo brand cars - has just announced the recall of 5 Volvo XC90 Excellence 2020 models, manufactured between August and September 2019.

The brake pedal on these vehicles may not function properly or correctly. However, the dealer says the electric power brake system will function normally.

The recall states that the brake booster push rod on the Volvo XC90 Excellence vehicles mentioned above was not properly assembled.

Specifically, the rod connecting the brake pedal to the brake booster may not be tightened to specifications. If this rod separates, the brake pedal will not operate properly.

Volvo Cars Vietnam recommends that owners of affected Volvo XC90 Excellence vehicles bring their vehicles to authorized dealers for free repair.

The procedure includes checking and adjusting the brake booster push rod tightening force. The average time to perform the procedure is about one hour per vehicle.

In Vietnam, Volvo XC90 was launched to domestic customers in 2016. The Excellence version arrived in the Vietnamese market in October 2018.
