“Healing” is a “hot” keyword recently and has become a trend among young people. Whenever they are stressed, pressured or disoriented, many young people struggle to find ways to “heal” to balance their lives.

Pressure of life

When she first started working, Ms. Hoang Thi Huong Lan (22 years old, Cam Giang district) was busy with many files, papers, and books. Although she worked as an administrative officer in a state agency, there were days when she returned home after 8 pm. The pressure of work made her withdraw, no longer carefree and innocent like when she was a student.

Ms. Huong shared: "There are many ways to make life go more smoothly and peacefully. At home, I raise several dogs. Whenever work is too stressful, I come home to play with and pet them." At home, she also digs the ground, plants trees, arranges flowers, paints statues or goes for a walk to watch the sunset every afternoon.

Every year, Lan also rewards herself with a few trips with her family, friends or colleagues. After each trip, experiencing and exploring new lands, she recharges her energy and forgets her personal sadness. Up to now, she has set foot in many lands both in and outside the country.

As for Ms. Pham Minh Thu (27 years old, in Gia Loc district), healing is simply returning to her hometown every weekend, cooking delicious meals for her parents, gathering and chatting with her family. Because she works at a large bank in Hanoi from 8am to 8pm, and attends graduate school on the weekends, Ms. Thu rarely cooks or visits her family. Therefore, on holidays and Tet, instead of traveling like many of her friends, she returns to her hometown, breathes fresh air, and gets away from the dust and smoke of the city. "There were times when work was too stressful, I asked my boss for a few days off to go home to my parents to relax," Ms. Thu shared.

After going through an unsatisfactory relationship, Ms. Trinh Thuy Duong (29 years old, in Nam Sach district) came to a 7-day meditation course at Long Hung pagoda (Dong Anh, Hanoi). Within 7 days, she turned off her phone, left social networks, was guided to practice, meditate, and focus on her breathing. 7 days of experiencing the life of a meditator from 4am to 9pm, listening to lectures from the monks helped her forget negative thoughts and life pressures. After the meditation course, she thought more positively and openly, thanks to that she found the other half of her happiness.

These are some of the "healing" methods chosen by many young people after the stress of life. Many other "healing" methods such as experiential travel, leaving the city for the forest, participating in sports, listening to podcasts, music, movies, reading books... are also chosen by young people.

Soothe the wounds

In fact, “healing” is just another name for an activity to restore the spirit and mind after injuries or stress in life. However, recently, this keyword has become a trend used by many young people. Along with the influence of social networks, young people seek “healing” as a way to take care of their mental health and cope with the challenges of modern life.

Browsing social networks like Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, it is not difficult to come across the phrase "healing". Just typing this phrase on Google will give more than 62 million results within 0.32 seconds. On the TikTok platform, the keywords "chualanh" and "healing" are in the top 100 most searched keywords. That proves the "hotness" of the "healing" trend among young people recently.

Each work experience session at the Cham Art Studio in Hai Duong City of Ms. Nguyen Minh Ngoc Linh this time attracts about 30 participants, mainly young people, more than before. Spending a few hours focusing on creating a work of art is a way for you to reward yourself after stressful hours of work and study. At the same time, when you focus all your time and mind on painting or crocheting, you will ignore the stress and fatigue outside, helping your mind to relax more.

In addition to instructing work at the art studio, Ms. Linh is also "healing" the psychology of a few people from 20 to 30 years old. Ms. Linh said that recently, more young people with psychological problems have come to her. The main reason comes from family pressure, work environment, and life.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Thu Trang, a psychology lecturer at Hai Duong University, the human brain cannot withstand stress and pressure for a long time, so it is necessary for young people to "heal" themselves with beneficial personal hobbies and passions to help the brain rest and stabilize mental health.

As a psychology lecturer, Ms. Trang said that maintaining a good spirit, balanced psychology, and comfort is important in life. However, she also advises young people to renew and heal themselves within their financial capacity, and to carefully research courses or psychological treatments before participating.
