The construction project where the ladder cable broke, killing three workers, was granted a construction permit on April 4 and its construction permit was adjusted on June 8, 2023.
On November 12, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City announced a quick report on the labor accident involving a broken ladder cable that killed 3 people at a construction site in Ward 8 (Phu Thuy Ward), which occurred at noon on November 11.
According to the report, the construction site is located at plot number 366, map sheet number 51, Phu Thuy ward, Phan Thiet city. This project was granted Construction Permit No. 196/GPXD by the People's Committee of Phan Thiet city on April 4, 2023 and the Construction Permit was adjusted on June 8, 2023. During the construction process, the People's Committee of Phu Thuy ward and the Urban Management Department inspected the construction of the project on August 23, 2023.
This high-rise building construction project is being built by Mr. To Vu Le Hai (born in 1985, residing in Ham Hiep commune, Ham Thuan Bac district).
This morning, Mr. Nguyen Minh, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Ham Thuan Bac District People's Committee, visited and expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims who died after the cable ladder broke.
At the victims’ families, the Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee shared the pain and loss of the relatives, encouraged the families to overcome the pain soon to stabilize their lives. At the same time, requested the local authorities to continue to care for and support the lives and spirits of the victims’ families.
At around 11:30 a.m. on November 11, at a construction site on Nguyen Trai Street, in Ward 8, Phu Thuy Ward, when a group of workers were on the elevator cable to move from the 3rd floor to the ground, the cable broke, killing 3 people on the spot, 1 person was lucky enough to grab onto the scaffolding and jump out.
The deceased victims include: Mr. Nguyen Van X. (born in 1954), Mr. Bui Ngoc L. (born in 1961), both residing in Ham Thang commune, Ham Thuan Bac district, and Ms. Nguyen Thi T. (born in 1978), residing in Ham Duc commune, Ham Thuan Bac district.
Among them, victim X. is the biological father of Ms. T., who also worked as a bricklayer at this construction site.
