Hai Duong City won the Provincial Primary and Secondary School Chess Tournament

On the afternoon of February 23, the Department of Education and Training closed the Provincial Primary and Secondary School Chess Tournament for the 2022-2023 school year, at the Provincial Children's House.

The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize for the entire secondary school team to Hai Duong City team.

At the primary level, Hai Duong city ranked first overall; Tu Ky and Nam Sach districts ranked second; Kim Thanh, Ninh Giang districts and Chi Linh city ranked third overall.

At the secondary school level, the first prize continued to belong to Hai Duong city; Chi Linh city and Ninh Giang ranked second; the third prize belonged to Cam Giang, Tu Ky and Gia Loc districts.

In the individual awards, the Organizing Committee awarded 18 first prizes (ranked 1st in the group), 36 second prizes (ranked 2nd and 3rd), 54 third prizes (ranked 4th to 6th), and 108 consolation prizes (ranked 7th to 12th).

The tournament took place from February 22-23, attracting 632 students from grades 1-9 from 275 primary and secondary schools from teams of 12 districts, towns and cities. The tournament had the largest number of participants ever and for the first time had the participation of secondary school students.

The tournament attracted over 600 players, the largest ever and for the first time, junior high school students participated.

The provincial chess tournament for primary and secondary school students is an annual tournament that has become increasingly popular and attracted a large number of players. The tournament not only creates a useful playground for students but also contributes to promoting the chess movement in and out of school.
