Hai Duong City invests in classroom buildings at Binh Minh Kindergarten and Le Hong Phong Secondary School

According to the report of Hai Duong City People's Committee, Binh Minh Kindergarten and Le Hong Phong Secondary School (Pham Ngu Lao Ward) currently have some seriously degraded classroom buildings that need immediate investment and repair to ensure safety and teaching needs.

Le Hong Phong Secondary School has a 2-storey, 12-room building (built in 1985) that has seriously degraded. To ensure safety, the city has fenced off the building and temporarily suspended its use. The expected scale of investment in the construction of this school includes demolishing the existing 2-storey classroom building to make way for a 4-storey subject classroom building; renovating the existing 3-storey, 6-room classroom building into a principal's office building; building a toilet to connect with the existing 4-storey, 16-room classroom building; and constructing an auxiliary item.

Binh Minh Kindergarten has a temporary kitchen (because the old kitchen was demolished), a makeshift school gate, an unusable drainage system causing flooding, a bumpy school yard that has not been renovated synchronously, affecting collective activities...

The expected investment scale for the construction of this school includes a 2-storey head office building (building A); a number of connecting bridges; a kitchen, a 3-storey classroom building (building F), a number of auxiliary items and technical infrastructure systems outside the building.

According to the policy of administrative unit arrangement, Hai Duong city will merge Pham Ngu Lao ward and Le Thanh Nghi ward into 1 administrative unit. However, if the 2 above mentioned schools are merged with other schools of the same level in the area, after the merger, the criteria for recognition of standard schools will not be met, the number of classes and groups of classes will exceed the criteria; the land area cannot be expanded, the construction density of the buildings will not be guaranteed...

Therefore, according to the People's Committee of Hai Duong City, it is impossible to merge the above two schools with schools of the same level, while the urgent issue is to ensure the implementation of investment in these two schools.

At the meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in May (5th time), Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban agreed with the report of the Hai Duong City People's Committee, and agreed to assign the city to continue investing in the items of the 2 schools: Binh Minh Kindergarten and Le Hong Phong Secondary School according to the set plan to meet the requirements of teaching and learning.
