Roadmap for merging provincial administrative units nationwide
The project to merge provincial-level administrative units and abolish the district level to streamline the apparatus and improve management efficiency will be submitted to the Central Government before April 1 and approved by the National Assembly before June 30.

Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra said the merger of provincial-level administrative units across the country is expected to be completed before August 30 and put into operation from September.

According to regulations, documents that have been issued by competent authorities to individuals, citizens, and organizations before the arrangement according to the old administrative unit, if they have not expired according to regulations, can continue to be used.
