General Secretary and President To Lam attends the ceremony to celebrate the 55th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament.

On the morning of August 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Central Public Security Party Committee held a ceremony to celebrate the 55th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament (1969-2024) and the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security received the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

General Secretary and President To Lam attended and, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Ho Chi Minh City Police.

Attending the ceremony were former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; Politburo members: Party Central Committee Secretary Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Party Central Committee's Internal Affairs Commission; Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security. Party Central Committee Secretaries: Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chief of the Party Central Committee's Office; Le Minh Tri, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, leaders and former leaders of a number of central ministries and branches, and professional units of the Ministry of Public Security.

Before the ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam and delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, an exceptionally outstanding leader of the Party and people of Vietnam.

55 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, the People's Public Security force, including the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security, has continuously grown in all aspects, is absolutely loyal to the Party, and wholeheartedly serves the Fatherland and the people.

The People's Public Security has affirmed its position and core role in the task of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety; truly being a reliable support for the Party, State and people, embellishing the glorious tradition of 79 years of the heroic Vietnam People's Public Security force.

Following the direction of the Party and State, which is regularly and closely monitored by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security has made outstanding contributions and contributions; contributed significantly to the city's continuous development, consolidating its leading role and driving force for the development of the Southeast region; and has been recognized, highly appreciated by the Party, State and people, and awarded the title of Hero of the Armed Forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Central Public Security Party Committee for their initiative to organize a meaningful program, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 in the city named after Uncle Ho.

At the same time, it is emphasized that this is an occasion to commemorate and deeply express gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader of our Party and people, the great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, the national liberation hero, the world cultural celebrity; affirming the strong will and determination of our entire Party, people and army to always study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and steadfastly implement his teachings.

The General Secretary and President said that before passing away, beloved President Ho Chi Minh left the entire Party, people and army a sacred and historical Testament that fully crystallizes the quintessence of cultural, ideological, moral and noble values.

The Testament clarified the essential issues of Party building, the relationship between the Party and the people, and provided comprehensive orientation for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and post-war nation building; instilled in the entire Party, people, and army an iron will and determination, illuminating and leading the Vietnamese revolution to create many miracles and achieve complete victory.

The General Secretary and President stated that, imbued with and implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, our entire Party, people and army, including the People's Public Security force, cadres, Party members and people of Ho Chi Minh City, will constantly strive, unite, join hands and overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully continue the great revolutionary cause that he devoted his whole life to, sacrificed for, successfully implement the renovation policy, gradually bring our country to socialism and stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as he wished.

The General Secretary and President emphasized that the People's Public Security force, including the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Force, is always exemplary and takes the lead in implementing the Party's resolutions, directives and conclusions on Party building and rectification; resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption and negativity; building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern force, "forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people", "knowing that as long as the Party exists, we exist" in accordance with Uncle Ho's will: "The first thing to do is to rectify the Party, making every Party member, Youth Union member, and Party cell strive to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, wholeheartedly serving the people."

Along with that, the General Secretary and President requested attention to building a contingent of cadres, party members of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Public Security with steadfast political will, pure revolutionary ethics, always putting the interests of the nation, the people, and the legitimate interests of the people above all, always wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the people. At the same time, they must be exemplary, clean, dynamic, creative, dare to think, dare to act for the common good; absolutely do not take advantage of their positions to do things that harm the common interests of the Party, the State and the legitimate interests of the people.

The General Secretary and President expressed his firm belief that, under the leadership of the glorious Party, imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, inheriting and promoting the glorious tradition, and being wholeheartedly trusted and supported by the people, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Central Public Security Party Committee will continue to be exemplary and the core in implementing the Party's resolutions, directives and conclusions, together with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people, successfully carrying out the cause of national renewal, building the city to develop remarkably, the country to develop more and more prosperously and powerfully, steadily moving towards socialism, successfully implementing President Ho Chi Minh's testament and the aspirations of the entire nation.

Previously, General Secretary and President To Lam, along with a delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front and the Central Public Security Party Committee, offered flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park, in memory of the genius leader of the Party and people, the great teacher of the Vietnamese Revolution, the national liberation hero, the outstanding cultural figure, the exemplary international communist soldier, who devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
