Brightening the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Public Security force

Joining the heroic atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the anniversary of the historic August Revolution, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the 19th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2024), on the afternoon of August 14, General Secretary and President To Lam attended and spoke at the meeting with retired senior officials of the People's Public Security force in Hanoi.

The meeting was organized by the Central Party Committee of the Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security to review the tradition and pay tribute to the merits and contributions of generations of leaders, generals, officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security through the periods, with the participation of comrades: General Le Hong Anh, former member of the Politburo, former Standing member of the Secretariat, former Minister of Public Security; Chief of the Central Party Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for National Defense and Security Le Tan Toi; comrades Assistant to the General Secretary and President.

Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee and Minister of Public Security chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Expressing his joy at attending the meeting with retired senior police officers on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day, on behalf of the Party and State leaders and with his personal feelings for having contributed and matured in the People's Public Security Forces for 50 years, General Secretary and President To Lam sent to the delegates his sincere greetings and best wishes; congratulating the feats and achievements that the entire People's Public Security Forces have achieved over the past 79 years.

According to the General Secretary and President, since its inception, under the leadership, education and training of the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, the People's Public Security force has continuously grown and matured, always upholding the tradition of "Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people," being absolutely loyal to the Party and the Fatherland, closely attached to the people, always closely coordinating with the People's Army and law enforcement agencies at all levels and sectors, not afraid of sacrifice, hardship, resourcefulness, courage, creativity, and cleverness in combat and work, constantly cultivating, training, studying and following the Six Teachings of Uncle Ho to the People's Public Security, promoting its core role in the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety.

The People's Public Security Force has made a very important contribution to firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, maintaining a peaceful, stable and developing environment for the country, and enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.

The People's Public Security Force has promoted its role, truly being the sharp "sword" of the Party, a solid shield protecting the socialist regime, the peaceful and happy life of the people.

The achievements, exploits and maturity of the People's Public Security force are very important factors for the socialist regime to become increasingly solid; our country to become increasingly stable and developed; and society to become increasingly fair, democratic and civilized.

"The Party, State and people have trusted and assigned the key leadership and command responsibilities of the Ministry of Public Security and Public Security units and localities through the periods to generals and officers who have been trained and matured from practical work and combat.

They are revolutionary soldiers with steadfast political will, resilience, and courage, and are typical examples of patriotism, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the people, and ready to fight and sacrifice for the revolutionary cause of the nation.

"Comrades have made very important contributions, creating great strength to successfully carry out the cause of national liberation, building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, and beautifying the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Public Security force," General Secretary and President To Lam praised.

The General Secretary and President said that, up to now, promoting that tradition, the People's Public Security force has basically completed the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress and the 7th Central Public Security Party Congress, maintaining security and stability for the country to continue developing, proactively working in all aspects of social construction and a peaceful life for the people.

The Central Public Security Party Committee has always been an exemplary Party Committee, taking the lead in implementing political tasks, policies and guidelines of the Party and State. Since then, its prestige and trust have been very high, always receiving the approval and support of the Party, State and people's leaders.

This is also the result of 79 years of building and fighting of the People's Public Security force, including the contributions of many generations of People's Public Security officers and soldiers...

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and generations of generals, officers, and heroes of the People's Armed Forces and the People's Public Security Force, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his honor, pride, joy, and excitement to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam to attend and deliver a congratulatory speech on the 79th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force's Traditional Day.

"We are deeply aware that this is the special concern of the Party, the State and the General Secretary and President himself. His instructions are extremely important orientations for the work of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Public Security force, as well as taking care of the material and spiritual lives of People's Public Security officers and soldiers, including retired officers," Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed.

Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang affirmed that the Central Public Security Party Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the entire People's Public Security force will seriously grasp and effectively implement the direction of the General Secretary and President; promise to generations of leaders, retired officers of the Public Security, and the People's Public Security force to promote the glorious heroic tradition, inherit and continue the achievements and results that generations of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, especially the General Secretary and President, former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, generals, officers, and Heroes of the People's Armed Forces have worked hard to build and cultivate; determined to excellently complete the tasks, worthy of the trust of the Party, the State and the love of the people.

Minister Luong Tam Quang also hopes to continue receiving the attention, leadership and regular and close direction of the Party and State; hopes that retired officers of the People's Public Security will continue to monitor and contribute to the cause of protecting security and order and building the People's Public Security force in the coming time...

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Vu Hung Vuong, former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Crime Prevention and Control, Ministry of Public Security; Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam People's Police Veterans Association, affirmed that generations of retired police officers in recent years have always received attention and direction from the Central Public Security Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security. Party committees and police at all levels have always paid attention to building and consolidating the People's Police Veterans Association, taking care of the regimes, policies and supporting difficulties for retired police officers, relatives of martyrs, war invalids and people with meritorious services in the People's Police force.

Up to now, the Vietnam People's Police Veterans Association is gradually becoming a strong organization, actively participating in political tasks and revolutionary movements at the grassroots level, thereby demonstrating its role and position.

Comrade Vu Hung Vuong expressed that in the coming time, members of the Vietnam People's Police Veterans Association will preserve and continue to promote the good nature of the Vietnam People's Police; actively participate in political tasks at the grassroots level, especially the movement to protect national security; hope to continue to receive the attention of the leaders of the Party, the State and the Central Public Security Party Committee, and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security so that the Vietnam People's Police Veterans Association will continue to develop...
